The Delavan Panther Frostbite Classic is one of the state's oldest road races. The 13.1 mile road race has become an annual spring tradition in central Illinois, and has been run continuously for 34 years. The race begins near Delavan High School, and follows a mostly flat (some say rolling) loop around a six mile loop (twice), and finishes back at the school. Bus transportation is provided to the starting line. All proceeds from the race will go directly to support the Delavan athletic programs. All pre-registered runners will receive a long-sleeved hooded sweatshirt. Race day entrants are not guaranteed a sweatshirt.

AWARDS
Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female finishers, as well as the top 3 finishers in each age division. There will be a $250 cash prize for any runner, male and female, that can set a course record!
MALE AND FEMALE DIVISIONS: Under 30, 30-34,35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, and 55-59, and 60 and over.

Women: Allison Arndt, 1:23:01 (2006)

By race-day, there might be a good turn-out. Not to mention a competitive local field. Looks like most of the big dogs will be out there. It'll be fun to get out there with everyone. Looks like the weather my let up by race-time too. Thank you Lord.

Even though I'm in the Austin area, and could have signed up for their half marathon, I decided to wait for Delavan. I think I made a good choice. (Today...I slept in!)
